Surrounded by the protected forests of the Children’s Eternal Rainforest and Arenal Volcano National Park, Chachagua Rainforest Reserve offers an intimate way to experience one of Costa Rica’s richest natural landscapes. Remarkably, Costa Rica is home to nearly 5% of the planet’s biodiversity.
At Chachagua Rainforest Hotel & Hot Springs, we protect 94 hectares of secondary rainforest, much of it accessible through three hiking trails and a network of lush forest paths.
Our reserve borders the 23,000-hectare Children’s Eternal Rainforest, Costa Rica’s largest private nature reserve. Together, these protected lands form an important biological corridor supporting more than 300 bird species, 120 mammal species, 100 reptile species, 1,000 plant species, and an extraordinary diversity of insects, including species that remain unknown to science.
The rainforest is woven into every part of the Chachagua experience. You might encounter it while following a trail beneath the canopy, listening to birds over breakfast, soaking in the hot springs, or simply sitting on your terrace as wildlife moves through the trees.
Join us and surrender to the changing light, the calls of birds, the rustle of leaves, and the enchanting rhythm of the forest.
